Why Bill Sali, Part Four: Restoring Fiscal Sanity
Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, TheWashington’s deficit spending is out of control. If elected to Congress, Bill Sali will be part of the solution to the problem.
Sali understands several key facts:
1) If politicians can create a deficit they will:
That’s why Bill Sali favors a Balanced Budget Amendment and will sponsor one in Congress. This has some common sense behind it. Every governor who runs for President brags about balancing the budget, but in most states, they have no choice.
2) We Have a Spending Problem, not a Revenue Problem
We’re at record levels of tax revenues, but also dealing with a deficit. If the Bush tax cuts caused the problem, we haven’t seen it on the revenue side. It’s congress’ lack of fiscal control. Sali will stand firm against unnecessary government and government waste in Washington and has a 16 year track record to show that he won’t stand behind wasteful spending.
3) You have to address entitlements
Simply put, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are time bombs waiting to go off. Bill Sali is willing to address these issues. He’s willing to make the hard choices now so that future generations don’t face higher burdens. These programs need to be reformed.
One plan, Sali has come up with is to expand Community Health Clinics where doctors are given grants based on the number of patients they intend to treat in order to offset their costs in caring for America’s poorest citizens. Sali estimates that the plan would save 25-35% v. the average administrative cost of medicaid.
Bill Sali has a great understanding of our nation’s fiscal woes and that will make an excellent memebr of Congress.
