Wolverine State Leans Obama

Posted by Adam Graham in : Presidential Race 2008

The latest Rasmussen poll in Michigan shows Barack Obama up by 8. This follows on the heals of two other polls showing him up by 9 and 6. Thus, I think we can firmly say that Michigan and its 17 electoral votes lean towards Obama, thus changing my map of electoral votes with Leaners to a 269-249 Obama lead.

The troubling sign for the McCain Camp on the electoral college vote isn’t just the states going to Obama, but some of the big leads Obama is building in Swing States. In one of three Blue-to-Red opportunities, in Wisconsin, Obama leads by double digits. Obama’s lead in the 2004 Red State of Iowa by 7 and a half is also troubling.  Obama has quite a few openings in GOP territory, McCain’s are limited to 3 States in Democratic territory: Michigan, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire and the McCain Campaign’s pulse in the former two states is faint.
