Yes, Grassroots

Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, The

Chris at Unequivocal Notion takes issue with the Grassroots Idaho GOP based on the Wikipedia definition of the word Grassroots:

A grassroots political movement is one driven by the constituents of a community. The term implies that the creation of the movement and the group supporting it is natural and spontaneous, highlighting the differences between this and a movement that is orchestrated by traditional power structures.

Indeed, this movement is grassroots in the sense it’s not being brought by mostly large leaders of the political party. Indeed, for their own reasons, the state’s most powerful traditional leaders including Senator Larry Craig and Chairman Kirk Sullivan oppose closing the primaries. The call for this done is coming ultimately from the grassroots of the party.

Of course, Chris had to fire off a derogatory barrage against home schoolers:

This is exactly what happens when you home school your politicians.

Not aware of any of these people being homeschooled (most are a tad too old for that.) But the day of homeschoolers coming of age is approaching and I have every confidence it’ll be better than what both parties havig been doing to our state and country heretofore.
