Yes I’m a Dork…

And blockquoting a blockquote:

Anakela in her post on abortion wrote:

Abortion’s been legal for over my entire lifetime, so in theory every child who exists now should have been a planned for and loved child, right? How many children are in foster care in this country right now? How many waiting to be adopted? How many anti-abortion folks are caring for these children? Because there’s probably going to be more of them if abortion’s illegal again. More drug addicted infants, more abused children, more kids beaten to death at the hands of their so-called family members.
When I was in elementary school wayback when, I had a friend who was just suddenly gone one day- new foster family, she didn’t know she’d be leaving, we never got to say goodbye. And then there was the girl I knew who would tell us all what it would be like to ‘have sex’ with someone, as she’d had sex with (read: been raped by) ‘lots of older guys.’ Have you ever had a fellow 10 year old explain about gag reflexes, and not using your teeth? Back then it was ‘ewww- gross, sex talk,’ it was as I got older that I could appreciate how disturbing it really was. I saw a boy who was getting a ‘spanking’ with a broomstick get hit with with it so hard that the stick broke across him. I knew kids being raised by relatives because their mom was either in jail or smoking ice, maybe also a prostitute, and no one was quite sure who their dad was. I could go on and on, but I would prefer not to.

Now, Anakela’s position it is better for children not to be born than to be born under a difficult circumstance. The thought in her argument is “Every Child: A Wanted Child.” There’s a lot of answers to this. I go back to a prior point that the destruction of humanity, of our soul, and conscience is not worth what’s being offered.

The thought that occurs to me reading Anakela’s story is how in the world could she, after having been friends with children that the post-abort crowd would say are prime examples of why abortion should be legal, how could she be anything but pro-life. She is turning to her friends and saying, not only, “I wish your mother had killed you in the womb,” but “your life is meaningless and you would be better off dead.” Abortion is child abuse of the worst kind. It’s like putting out a campfire by setting the surrounding forest on fire. Trying to prevent child abuse by permitting it is just as absurd as burning down the forest to prevent a forest fire.

    Andrea

Actually, setting up controlled fires to protect forest is a valid method of fighting forest fires.

To fight them, yes or to burn out brush. However, the comparison to the issue of the post, I don’t believe there’s an equivalent.

Michael, I’m aware of that, I meant burning down the ENTIRE forest, per the environmentalists who think we should let it burn then won’t let us salvage the logs. And complain loggers are destroying our forests. In reality, they have a good incentive to properly manage the source of their livelihood.

Now the dork is introducing a rabbit trail, yes :)
