On August 8, 2002, after things got set up with the Labor Contractors, I decided to go ahead and send him a bill through the mail for the Independent Contractor period. He had insisted that he kept getting all of my "checks" back as return to sender, so I sent him a self-addressed stamped priority mail envelope with delivery confirmation already purchased.
I also sent the invoice to him, priority mail with delivery confirmation.
He said that he didn't receive it and that the Post Office delivered it to the wrong box holder. Given the choice of whom to believe, I'd gladly take the US Postal Service over Don Cyphers any day. After I resigned, Mr. Cyphers flack (or alias I'm not sure which) threatened to have me prosecuted for theft if I didn't return my press credentials. Against the advice of others, I sent the credentials (along with another bill) back to Montana News Association Priority mail, but this time I also sent it certified with a signature required to pick it up.
Mr. Cyphers apparently was afraid to sign for it as after sending on September 10, I received it back on October 1st, unclaimed and unsigned for.
Now to send that "Certified Priority" cost me $7.90. That may not be a substantial sum to Don Cyphers but I'm not going to continue to throw money down the drain. I tried to send the pass back. If you want it, Don, send me the money I'm owed and a SASE and I'd be more than happy to send it to you.
